Announcement from Betty Tannous: New President and Executive appointments for ATMS | ||
Dear Members, | ||
With my two-year tenure ending in February 2017, the Board met and elected a new Executive team for the ATMS. I did not re-nominate for the position of President as I believe that change is very beneficial for the Society. I will remain as a Director and continue to work for the members. The transition to new leadership was smooth with the previous Vice-President, Peter Berryman, being elected by the Board as the new President of ATMS. |
Peter Berryman brings a wealth of experience and a passion for natural medicine, competent in a number of modalities and specialising in homeopathy. Peter has been an ATMS Board member for the last ten years, and is currently Chair of the Academic Review Committee. Peter has represented ATMS in the media, and has been an educator in natural medicine for 26 years, as well as running a successful private practise for over 30 years. |
Robert Medhurst and Sandra Grace were elected into the positions of Vice-Presidents, both of whom have a long history with ATMS and work in the education sector. Robert is a practitioner with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice. He has extensive knowledge of legislation, TGA and business requirements, and represents ATMS on the TGA Complaints Resolution Panel and the TGA Advertising Code Council. |
Sandra Grace is a lecturer and researcher enhancing the Board with her skills in advocacy and research. Sandra is an Associate Professor at Southern Cross University and has been the editor of our Journal for a number of years. |
Christine Pope has been re-elected as Treasurer. Christine has significant experience in both business and finance through her previous career in investment banking, as well as education, including three years as Head of Nutrition for Nature Care College. |
Andrew Horne from AC Horne and Associates is contracted as the Company Secretary for ATMS. Andrew is a lawyer and has vast experience in corporate governance and is the current Chair of the Governance Institute of Australia. |
I congratulate the new Executive and look forward to a productive year working together for you, our members. |
Betty Tannous, Immediate Past President |
